At the Interfaith Council, volunteerism is the thread that unites all of us. Our committed volunteers are the life line of our programs. November - Thanksgiving Day

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, 10:00 on Thanksgiving Day
Join the planning committee! (Planning meetings begin in August/September.) Help find people willing to share their thanksgiving story. Help find sponsors to raise money to end hunger in Spokane.

December - Winter Youth Festival

Multi-faith gatherings for Youth to learn about each others most important / favorite Faith Celebrations. Contact us to get your youth group involved.

April - Easter Sunday

Easter Sunrise Service, 6:00 AM Easter Sunday Morning
Help plan Easter Sunrise Service or get your congregation involved in helping plan the service! (a “contact us” link … with the opportunity they want to volunteer for)



April - CROP Hunger Walk

An annual 10 K Walk-a-thon to raise funds to alleviate local and global hunger.


VOLUNTEERS CAN HELP in one or more of the following ways:

1) Get local organizations to sponsor walkers like the Morning Star Boys Team.

2) Organize a team of walkers and help them raise funds.

3) Recruit businesses, organizations and faith groups to organize teams of walkers.

4) Help raise $2500 in seed money for advertising, T-shirts, permits.

5) Help with posting fliers, advertising, media alerts.

6) Organize activities to educate and entertain children during registration the day of the Walk.

7) Research, write, print and post educational signs along the trail.

8) Set out safety cones and arrows to mark the trail.

9) Setup stage area for performers and booths for displays.

10) Help with registration

11) Host a Water station.

12) Be a crosswalk guard.

13) Help with thank you letters after the Walk.

14) Join the planning team which meets faithfully every the third Thursday of each month from September through April to organize the Walk.

Join a Program Advisory Committee:



Advocacy Action Network

The Public Policy Team meets regularly with the Advocacy Action Network Coordinator to advise on poverty issues that are of concern to the community; to help network with local groups that have a common interest in Advocacy projects; and to plan education events throughout the year. A major focus is planning the January Legislative Conference and providing follow-up work throughout the year.

Camp P.E.A.C.E.
The Scholarship Team meets periodically with the Camp P.E.A.C.E. Coordinator to assist with fundraising from business, clubs and faith communities so that the Camp P.E.A.C.E. program can reach as many youth as possible.

Circle of Caring
The Advisory Circle meets regularly with the Caring of Caring Coordinator to help plan and promote education in faith communities about faith-based response to domestic violence. Become a Circle of Caring Faith Community. Speak out for protection of victims of domestic violence.
